About Me!

Hi Guys! Today I've decided to write about me and my life!

Name: Rebecca Louisa Smith. I hate my middle name!! I'm not really sure why, I just always have!!

Birthday: May 15th 1998. I was born in Basingstoke Hospital - my sister was also born here, 2 years later!

Where do I live? In Hampshire - I have lived in the same house my entire life, with my Mum, Dad and sister, Frankie! Both sets of my Grandparents live about 5 minutes away, as do my Auntie, Uncle and Cousins!

School?  I absolutely loved Infant and Junior School! The headteacher was amazing, and I had a lovely group of school friends! While I was there, I always convinced myself that I enjoyed secondary school, and I didn't want to leave, but the reality was that the years I spent there were the worst of my life. Particularly in my last 3 years there I was very badly bullied and their words are still having an effect on me more than 2 years after I left - I'm in a good place now, but for a while there things were very bad for me. I'll probably blog more about this subject at a later date.

So anyway...! For my GSCE's I studied art (Distinction Star), ICT (Merit), History (A), and Food Technology (A), along with all the usual compulsory subjects.

After school I went to college - its a very small, old college, and I had the most wonderful, supportive teachers! I am currently waiting for my History A Level results...due Thursday!!! I also did an EPQ on tennis (I am a HUGE tennis fan)!! In my first year of college I also did AS level Psychology which I got a C in.

University has never appealed to me, so I currently have no plans on going!

Family: My sister Frankie is 16 years old, and very, very clever! She has just finished her GCSE's in which she is predicted all A's and A*'s! Her results come out a week after mine! She is extremely hard working, and wants to be a science teacher when she grows up! She is going to thesame college as me, and is going to study science and maths - she has also applied for a scholarship! Unlike me, she plans on going to University! She has a boyfriend called Jordan (also 16), who she has been with for nearly 3 years.

Frankie and Jordan!

My grandparents are all completely crazy!! My Mum's parents are the ones we are closest too! They do such a lot for us, and for that we are so grateful. My Nan is totally crazy, but in the good and funny way!! My Dad's parents are also crazy!! They go on holiday ALL THE TIME in their caravan, so they are hardly ever here!! However, we do still manage to see them quite often!

My Mum's brother lives in Banstead with my Auntie, so they are quite far away from us. However, we see them quite often - sometimes they come down and do quiz nights with us once a month, and they often come down and visit my grandparents. They have 2 gorgeous cats called George Junior and Marmalade - we love going to visit them because the cats are so cute!!!

My Dad's sister lives just 5 minutes away from us, with my Uncle and Cousins! Emily is their eldest (22), and Charlie had just turned 20. We see them a lot, and my Auntie is the best cook EVER!!! I speak to Emily all the time - we are like two peas in a pod!! She is going travelling for 2 years in February, and Charlie is going to University in September! It's going to be very quiet without them! They have two cats called Maple and Maisie!

Friends: I have the most amazing friends - in fact, they are more like family! We have had the same next door neighbours the whole time we have been living in our house! Their house is like our second home because we spend so much time there!! Luke is a year younger than me, and Freya is just about to start in year ten! She is like my sister - I don't know what I'd do without her! My relationship with Luke is a little more complicated - its a very love/hate kind of thing!! Sometimes we clash over a difference of opinion, but the major issue is that we're too similar! We're both very strong minded, stubborn people, and when we do have a difference of opinion we strongly believe that the other is wrong!! Although he makes me want to pull my hair out sometimes, I still love him - he's been part of my life too long for me to drop him out of it!

Here we all are when we were little! Freya is on the left, I'm in the middle, Frankie is on the right, and Luke is at the top!

Luke and Freya also have the most adorable cats in the world!! They are called Marble and Nando, and we are currently looking after them as Luke and Freya are on holiday!

Here I am with Freya and Marble!
Here's Nando asleep in our garden!! He sleeps on his back with his paws in the air!!!

My best friend in the whole world is Chloe! We met in secondary school and became close in year 9! We have been inseparable since then! She has been my rock throughout all the difficult times. Unlike Luke, she has ALL the same opinions as me!! We often have very strong debates about important topics such as the EU Referendum, but we ALWAYS agree with one another - we never argue, just talk passionately about our opinions! We often joke that our families are twins - our parents are scarily similar to one another in lots of different ways!!

Here is me (left), Chloe (middle) and Hannah (right), my other good friend!

Pets: I currently have 3 pets - 2 guinea pigs and 1 hamster. We have had Coffee and Truffles (the guinea pigs) for 5 years! We got them when they were babies from the RSPCA! We got their Mum (Marmite) as well, but she sadly died a couple of years ago from a heart problem. Coffee is our crazy pig - she loves being cradled on her back, which is very weird for a guinea pig - we have had 9 guinea pigs in the last few years, and only Coffee likes being cradled on her back!! Truffles is our little baby - she has always been tiny compared to all the other guinea pigs we've had, and she has a very shy personality.

Marmite was the most lovely guinea pig you could ever meet! When she got ill, she started losing weight, and the vet told us to bring her inside the house to feed her so that Coffee and Truffles didn't steal any of her food! We fed her in the house every day for months, and she eventually got so tame that she would follow us around the house like a tiny dog! She was the most adorable guinea pig ever!!

We got our first guinea pigs when me and Frankie were much younger - they were called Splodge and Rainbow!! Rainbow wasn't with us for very long - after a couple of years with us, he suddenly got very ill with leukemia and had to be put to sleep. We had Splodge for a lot longer, and he got so used to us that he'd walk right into the carry case when it was time to put him out on the grass!

Our next set of guinea pigs were from the RSPCA - Cookie and Parsley. Mum says she'll never forget my face when the lady from the RSCPA first put Parsley in my arms - it was love at first sight!! We had them both for about 4 years, and they had the most lovely, individual characters!

Finally, we got Rodney and Darwin - a lady that we knew could no longer look after them, so we offered to look after them for her. They were both gorgeous guinea pigs, but they were both very old, so we only had them for a year. Although we only had them for a short time, they were loved just as much as all the others!

We also have a hamster called Penelope! She is completely crazy! When we first got her she had a fixation of biting peoples toes!! Although she doesn't do this anymore, Freya is still scared of holding her!!! She loves coming out for a run around in the living room, but she is so fast that it's very easy to loose her!!

Penelope (or Penny for short)!

Before Penny, we had a hamster called Benny!! Very confusing, I know!!!! He loved to climb the stairs, and run around like Penny! He had the most adorable little character that Frankie couldn't resist getting Penelope after he died! He lived for nearly 3 years, which is very old in hamster years!

Hobbies: As you will probably know from my first post, I love to read! I have ALWAYS been a complete book worm, and sometimes I spend hours a day reading! Tomorrow I will do a post about my favourite books!

I also love tennis - I both play and watch tennis ALL THE TIME!!! I have been lucky enough to get tickets to Wimbledon the last 3 years, and it is the most amazing experience! I plan on blogging about tennis a lot more in the future!!

My view of Centre Court the last time I was at Wimbledon!

Personality: Around my family and friends I am very loud and outgoing, but around people I don't know I am very shy. I am quite confident talking to adults, but I really struggle with talking to people my own age. I think that especially in the last couple of years I have got more confident, but I remember that ALL my school reports used to say that I needed to put my hand up more in class! It wasn't that I didn't know the answers, it was just that I hated drawing attention to myself!

I think that's everything you need to know for now! Please feel free to leave a comment below and let me know what you think!

Bye for now,

Becca xxx
